We give adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in community activities, outside the home, that all other members of the community have access to.
KP Supports - Supported Community Connections Day Program
KP Supports Supported Community Connections / Day Program aims to bridge the gap between an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the world. This program is intended to enhance flexibility, develop decision-making skills, self-grooming, social interacting cues, and relationship building. We want them to know that they can interact with their community safely and appropriately while learning new things. We want them to spend quality time out of their home and intermingle with the community and its members.
Our Supported Community Connections Day Program is completely person centered.
We allow our clients to have impute on where they would like to go and what community activities they would like to participate in. We have an Activities Calendar with fun activities the clients and staff have collectively agreed were appropriate, educational, interesting, and fun.
KP Supports believe choosing activities based on the needs and interests of the clients creates a unique opportunity to achieve goals, build healthy relationships, and have fun, all while learning in the community.
